To go beyond the usual avant-garde suspects, we must go beyond nationalism. I have included the concrete poem and video of Augusto de Campos’s Wahlfischergesang, based, in its turn, on Christian Morgenstern’s great wordless poem “The Fish’s Song.” I have a short essay coming out on this piece in the journal Print & Art. I think it’s a brilliant minimalist parodic take on MOBY DICK ending with the words “Call me Moby.”
