Bulletin from the margins of modernism: twentieth-century art blanked our ability to see and understand ornament as a means of visual knowledge production. We’ve consequently lost sight of a remarkable group women working in the slums of fin-de-siècle Edinburgh to transform urban living and social relationships through art and design.
